~*~ Food Ornament Holiday Cards ~*~
Here’s a creative, low-budget way to use up old magazines or newspapers. And don’t limit yourself to just food! Clothing, nature, or text will work too. The kiosk is your limit!

1. MAKE TEMPLATES
Trace and cut 3 difference sized circles (large, medium, & small) on sturdy paper like a brown bag or index card.
2. BROWSE THROUGH MAGAZINES
Flip through the pages for food images. Try to look for extreme close-ups, that way it will look like an abstract pattern once cut. Also try to look for circular plate shots so you don’t need to use a template every time. Use the largest of the 3 templates to trace all the food images you like. Then go back and cut them out.
3. ARRANGE THE ORNAMENTS
Sort through the magazine cut-outs and pair them in groups of 3 by color or food-type. You want the ornaments to look cohesive on the card. For example, try to find 3 images with traces of green or 3 images with pasta. Now you can take the 2 smaller circle templates and cut 2 small ornaments in the group of 3 you selected.
4. HANG YOUR ORNAMENTS
Cut 3 different lengths of string. Glue their tips on the back of the each circle. You don’t need too munch about perfection here, you can alway trim the string as you go.
Glue the backs of each ornament and paste them on the blank card at different heights. Glue the tops of the string the top folded edge of the card. Then trim the excess string with scissors.
Cut 3 more pieces of string and tie them into a bow, like a shoe lace. Glue the knot part of the bow and paste it where the string meets the ornament.
* TIP press firmly when glueing the string and ornaments to the cards so they stick well. *
